Is this a Midas Cichlid or a Red Devil ?

Hi again (sorry to inundate you with yet another ID question :naughty:) but could someone please tell me if this is a Midas Cichlid or a Red Devil :confused: He was sold as a Midas Cichlid but I've seen a few pics of Red Devils which look similar to him :confused: PLEASE do not look at the state of the glass and surrounding wood :headshake.....my 3 year old twins decided to have a yoghurt fight whilst I was trying to get a tidy photograph :swear:

How big is it?
Looks more rd to me than midas but prob a bit of a mutt. Maybe a pic from the front would help more as to identify the mouth shape, but the body looks a bit longer and thinner than a midas.

it is tough to figure it out, mines a mutt with more midas characteristics I would say, but tough to determine. Someone will say...if you didnt buy it from a vendor its a mix and leave it at that
 
His mouth looks as though he's got 'lips' if that's any help :/ I'll try and get a front-on picture in a bit but I'll leave them for a while before I try because they got a bit spooked when the flash went off :(

yeah its most likely red devil then, they are the ones that get the big lips though usually its lost with the captive strains, but yeah usually midas have taller bodies and nuchal humps, either way its a great looking fish :)
 
where did you get him from? im assuming a pet store which means you more then likely have a mutt. you would most likely need to call a reliable vendor and tell them that you want a pure red devil in order to get one.
