and considering its in ur room I personally wouldnt as that will just look awful. if the stand fits into a cabinet and the whole thing looks kinda conceald in the wall then that height is no problem. No doubt ur stand will have no issues but consider the cleaning the maintance and so on.... i have a 100G grow out in a 3' stand... boy thats a trouble... the best thing ive done to that is have bulkhead drilled for easy WC...

for those dimensions you mentioned 32" height or mebbe a lil more is the best... again consider the aesthetics of ur room....
 
Finally done with my stand. Made it 5ft tall all together, and I built it all in my bathroom with a hand saw and drill. :)

I have a 125 gallon and made my stand 54" tall it depends on what you like sounds like a good height to me if you like how tall it is and still easy to maintain then it's fine

I think 40 inches to the bottom of a tank is the tallest I would go.one right now is 42 and I like it bit also kinda wish it was a touch shorter and easier to view while sitting in some low chairs. Most chairs put me at the perfect height.

I'm 6'4 so I made my stand 31 inches and with the tank its 52 inches which is perfect. Don't have look down too much to view and still easy to clean for me.
