IMG_3941.JPG IMG_3943.JPG IMG_3941.JPG IMG_3943.JPG IMG_3946.JPG I just notcit what looks like some type of worm attached to the anal finnof my Texas, is it some type of parasite and how should I treat? I have loaches and other scalessfish in the tank so any treatment has to be safe for scaleless fish

Hard to say. Even when I enlarge the pics I can't tell. The easy thing is to catch the fish and pluck
It.

Will be able to ID it hopefully and also you'll be treating it by removing it.

Not sure if I done the right thing but I netted the Texas and physically removed what ever was attached to his fin. What ever it was either had a forked tail or there was 2 worm like things right next to echnother, was mostly clear but was some black/brown parts to it.

Sounds like anchor worm. Hope it's all gone but check ur other fish.

I agree it looks like it could be an anchor worm. Catching the fish and removing it will be necessary for Id and treatment.
I second using microbe-lift lice and anchor worm treatment. I used it in the past when I had anchor worms introduced into my pond. It worked great and I haven't seen them since. I did remove all the adult worms off my fish and spot treated the bite area with a bio bandage.

Thanks for the response. Do anchor worms also affect a fishes poop? A few month ago i added a baby oscar to my tank and he brought some type of internal parasite to my tank, he was dead in a few days and what ever diease he had affected and killed 2 other baby oscars, I used blue planet fluke and tape worm tablets and kusuri wormer plus, both at different time and used carbon between the use of different meds. All other fish have been fine ever since untill about a week ago i noticed my texas was poop was clear sometimes. In the early evening around feeding his poo was normal but late in the evening right before i normaly go to bed i notice he has been doing a long clear poo, my red sev has also been pooping a bit weird, brown and white poo coming out at the same time, kinda messy. And then last night i noticed what was probably and anchor worm on my texas..... Not really have much luck with my fish at the moment.

Could the anchor worm and the white poo be linked? I can get microbe lift lice and anchor worm treatment from a shop near by. I have ordered parzipro for internal parasite treatment but i live in australia and it will take about 3 weeks to get here

Any meds i use have to be safe for scaless fish such as clown loaches... sorry to derail this thread but here are the pics of poo from tex and sev20770470_10155369819061335_1275821060334451057_n.jpg 20799252_10155378009796335_3488382017431844086_n.jpg 20881969_10155378010176335_3860092658531763605_n.jpg
