I know the name is widely used at the stores with no certificates. Is it cruel to raise one by itself ? At this time, I have it in a 55 gallon tank. The mammon is 6 1/2 inches tip to tip.

It looks to be something of the sorts - the mouth looks a bit more like a common blood parrot, but it’s all over the place with hybrids.
Nothing wrong with keeping it by itself - most cichlids would like nothing other than being alone. Long term you’re looking at a 12+ inch fish, so at least a 125 gallon aquarium is necessary.
HybridFinatic HybridFinatic can comment better.

The fish store got a giant shipment of the 6 - 6 1/2 inch size. I usually only see 3 1/2 inch ones for sale "near" me. In this giant shipment, about 1/4 of them had mouths that fully close. The store suggested I get more than one as they supposedly do better in groups. They have customers who keep 8 (yes eight) of them in a 90 or 120 gallon tank. I have been looking for a used 125 gallon tank...but no one is willing to deliver (yet).
