Their so adorable, my little hybrid pug mbuna.

My cat in a hybrid yellow tabby with spots from a bengal.

My dogs are hybrids.

My apple trees.

My strawberry plants.

My grandmother was a hybrid.

Well at least my diesel truck ain't.
In my book of ethics, all of the Rift lake cichlids are hybrids, of the technic plates.
Now a if I had her acclimatized to full marine salt, with a bunch of Damsel fish. That would be frownable.
I am sorry, but I just had to quote this stuff and post it somewhere. It is too good to be forgotten. :)

Lot's of people don't understand genetics, but none of that helps the OP.

To me it looks like a cross of the two, tho I dont even know if the 2 can cross, that being said, to me it looks more Texas than JD, tho I do see the JD red tips on the dorsal, and the yellow coloring of the pectoral fins.

id say a hybrid looks like a texas and a female green terror cichlid to me

How do you figure female GT?

Unless you know the true origin of the fish, we'll never know 100%. But it's common for h. Caprintis and h. Cyano to be bred.

It will just remain a guessing game unless like the animal guy,you have an app or a super power that can tell you the exact dna make up of both species.

Its impossible to tell, just looking at photos of some cichlids if they are a mutt (hybrid) or not. You can post photos until doomsday and not know, only a DNA test will tell you for sure these days.
In any spawn some might look almost exactly like the father, another % almost exactly like the mother.
And some people wonder why I rant against hybridization?!
