got it from a LFS today...its pretty skinny...about 6 inches long...already got it to eat some bits of tilapia.

Ive got a Venni, he eats out of my hand but lays on the bottom of the tank unless he is hungry. While boring at times hes an awesome fish. Good luck with yours

I have 2 sp Venezualan pikes and they look just like that

he has really come around...hes eating good and is really active...no signs of aggresion from or toward him.

Keep an eye on him. I had a venezuelan that was gentle right up until it hit about 10". Then it took over the tank. Fortunately it did it without killing any of its tankmates, but several of them did end up pretty beat up before it was over.

I have two more now (about 7" and growing fast!). I'm hoping they'll be opposite sexed so that I can get a pair, but we'll see.

And they are very owner responsive in my experience. They are always paying more attention to me when I'm in the room than any other fish I own except for one of my datnoids (who's my oldest fish currently).
