I've had my not-so-little guy for just over 2 years now. if you're not careful, they will try to kill themselves though. i had two. The one that is still alive has jumped out twice.

But my point was in specifically in aquarium vs wild- because he said in aquarium-that link says odoes tend to live longer in aquarium

Live longer than wild, but 5 yrs average is very short to me as to comparing other large fish species

To answer some questions this guy is in a petsmart, he's around 10" and the price is not firm. I may buy it
