Let me fill in some blanks here for you... your GSP will need to go from brackish to almost full marine as it matures, and yes they are extremely nippy, most puffers are...
As for the Fahaka, no it won't work in your 55G thats for sure, the MINIMUM for a singleton is a 125G for it to live comfortably, and considering it grows at an inch a month for the first year, even if you got it the 55G wouldn't last long, especially with other fish since Puffers are also known to be crap factories... and not to mention a Fahaka is known to be one of the most aggressive out of the lot...
So honestly, i would steer well clear of Puffers unless your planning on setting up a tank just for them... and trust me, having had no less than 5 years experience with puffers, i can tell you tank mates are almost always a no no and will end up dead sooner or later...
BTW, i guess i should of also mentioned that a GSP will also require 30G for a singleton once mature, as they will get to the size of a nerf ball... so you should definitely keep that in mind if you plan on keeping yours...
