Hello, the other day I got the last 2 kuhli loaches at my local fish store, ever since I got them , they have basically disappeared, yes, they are juvenile, are they hiding under the gravel and do loaches tend to do that? Is this bad, please help.

Probably hiding under your gravel or in a nice dark hiding spot. Switch to sand and you'll see cool behavior from them...they will be playing in the sand
yeah, thank you so much, i cant switch to sand though because there are many other inhabbinants of the tank
You can use sand for just about any fish. & ya, they're nocturnal so they will find a nice place to hide. If they dont hide I heard they'll lie on their side, given the impression that they're sick.
I actually will do that once i get my 60 gallon......... BTW thanks for the help
Heres a cool trick. get the bttom dish of a terra cotta pot like the part that collects excess water and make a sand box for ur loachies . just put it in and fill just that with sand. i did this once they loved it and corydoras like it too.
Two loaches is on the smaller side, I would say 3 or more...the bigger the group the better...they feel safer in larger groups

Well, not much I can tell you then but wait for your next LFS's shipment...maybe they will get more in
...You will love watching them bury in the sand once or if you switch to sand
