The fx5 reviews stated problems with Micro-bubbles galore? I'm not sure what this means, but if I spend 250 dollars on the fx5 I want to make sure I know its going to work. I'm about to order the FX5 now unless anyone has any other ideas. Thank you.

99% USER ERROR AND CLOGGED MEDIA OR PADS! If your half intelligent ull be ok, the fx5 is awesome with the proper maintanence!

filtration is plentttyyy. water changes not so much. id bump if from 10% to 50% minimum

50% water changes per week? Even with a FX5 and 2 Penguin 350 HOB filters?

you should always do 50% water change weekly! fx5 would be the best choice for you

FX% may not fit in the spot under my tank. My spot is Width = 14.5 Height = 25 inches and Depth = 15.5 inches.

I just checked the FX5 dimensions after reading a review that it was really big! The dimensions are 16 x 14 x 17. Does anyone know what 16 x 14 x 17 is? I'm not sure what order they go in, but it doesn't look like its going to fit! I need a smaller filter I believe.

Filtration does sound just fine. People do tend to exadurate filtration on here a lot. Even if you were setting up an 30 gallon I am sure there ar epeople who would reccomend fx5's . You should be doing 50% water changes weekly. That's just kind of standard when keeping cichlids. You are not keeping community fish anymore these guys tend to have a hefty bioload. And I don't think the Fx5 will fit but your rena should do just fine.

once again xp4 and 2 pen 350 are gonna be PLENTY your gonna have to do large water changes anyway so why spend that much on filtration (fx5).your current filters +any med. -lrg. can is still overfiltration(good)
