I just got done re-sealing a tank. The silicone sticks about a bit over 1/4" on the glass on each side. Is this enough to hold it ?

The previous silicone work was barely over 1/8" and it was holding up fine. I'd figured this will work better than previous silicone that was holding the glass panes.

Btw, the tank is an 85 gallon tank using 3/8" thick glass panes.

Thanks again

I would say it should be fine as long as the old stuffwas cleaned of good so the new stuff could stick well. The silicone on my 518gallon sticks out just over half and inch to 3/4 and it holds no problem. so 1/4 should be more then enough for your tank

thanks..

I cleaned the old residue with vinegar and alcohol as well as scraped all leftover with new razor blade...

I just want to make sure on the silicone that it has enough to grip :)
