I came across this on you tube and thought surely not, is this for real, or some kind of set up for the camera?

The nearest I could come to explaining it, if it is genuine, is that the fish are momentarily stunned by all the racket, thus making them easy to net out.

Strange. Anyone??

Looks real suspicious to me. That many fish in such close proximity to one another is hard to believe. Looks like he even lowered the water level by whirling that net around like a blender. I mean, it's possible to stun a fair number of densely-packed baitfish by chucking a big rock at them, but I seriously doubt whacking a hole in the ice with a bucket or a weird bowl-looking thing on a string would make the fish underneath any easier to catch; probably would do the opposite, I'd think. Those misgurnus look half-dead, too- pretty unusual; even when encased under a 10-centimeter block of ice, they'd still squiggle around like nobody's business when one tries to catch them. The pond looks fairly shallow; my guess is they somehow shoved some sort of receptacle underneath the ice and filled it with a bunch of fish.
Some of that channel's videos are pretty weird; there's one that involves a guy smacking a poor carp with a snow shovel in the middle of a shallow stream until it dies, and many others where they just... fish out dead fish from puddles and streams.

See, this is one of the reasons why I keep fish, i.e. because watching a fish tank seems like a wonderful way to relax without killing billions of brain cells...unlike most social media...

Those look and act like three older kittens, probably sitting around "chilling" or whatever the term is nowadays, waiting for Mom to get back with a meal. She'll come home after a hard day on the hunt, to find her three little thugs all cut and scratched up after they try hassling a Honey Badger...i.e. the African version of the Wolverine. :)

Agreed, they do look quite uncertain and naive, I'd have them down as juveniles too. The honey badger doesn't even have to break sweat with them.

But even so, that thing wouldn't shy away from mom either!
