Is this fungus or bacteria infection?

Does he eat ? ammonia burn maybe ? how long have your tank been setup ? what was the tank's occupant before the ray ? for how long ?
If you don't have enough beneficial bacteria, the bio load from a single ray can trigger a mini cycle. Not enough to show on test kit, not enough to kill, but just enough to trigger a burn.

It kind of looks like something that was on one of my big motoro males when I got him a few months back....

The ray is fine now...and I never noticed it when he was in the tank...only when he was in the shipping container.

Come to think of it...

It could very well be ammonia burns if you are in fact having problems with ammonia.

My motoro may have got the same thing whilst in shipping because of high ammonia levels in the shipping water but once in my tank with clean water...the symptoms stopped.

u said ur ammonia was at 0, maybe this condition started before the ammonia reached 0. i don't know if ur tank is still cycling..

i just remember ur last thread.. didnt sound like the rays had a very stable home.. it may be a slime coat problem.... i dont know.. i havent had any problems soo i cant really give a postive diagonisis.

all i know is the info u shared in ur previous thread about the office tank, the high ph and uncycled tank. all that stuff u mentioned in that thread probably is related to the conditon ur ray is experiencing some way or another.

id still try to find a home for them just incase...
i wish ur rays luck!!!

I had this in my 2 retics a year ago. They were hard to remove but went away with dimilin. I think those things are small rows of tiny crustaceans and they have this "herpes like" look.
