Tried inching over my tank on the garage and my retarded dad tried lifting it from the black molding or whatever you want to call it and it detached from the tank.... Idk if this has any real impact or not I plan on siloconing it back Down. Looks like its the bottom molding, should be fine, a dab of silicone may help. I have a tank with the top rim cracked and she's been fine for over a year w/o silicone.

It is flimsy when flexed side to side, but when something is pulling on it in a straight line with no torsional flex, as in the pressure of water trying to force the tanks walls straight apart, that plastic is very strong. It is there to keep the walls of the tank from bowing out. It allows the manufacturer to use thinner glass and still be safe.
