I just got Herbs onto earthworms...hahaha. DEF. try kiwi and figs....pears and zucchini are great also!

I was told by someone that lettice is bad for frt's. I dont remember the exact reasoning behind it, but once I heard that I quit feeding it to mine.
BUt yeah, stay away from earthworms, you dont want shell curl like mine had. It is so slow to fix

Lettuce is useless to FRTs. I drop kiwi halves in my FRT tanks and don't bother to take the rinds out until the next evening. I have yet to have problems with water quality. Also consider dropping in potato slices on your way out the door. They'll be fine until you remove them after returning home in the evening.
I grow jungle vallisneria in several non-herbivorous tanks and periodically transplant some of it to my FRT tanks for them to feed on also. Anacharis is another plant they enjoy dining on and it grows like wildfire in the outside bin.
