Nail on the head my friend. The hyper-allergic reaction is a well know and VERY dangerous issue that he doesn't seem to be concerned with.

IMO this guy is irresponsible and is doing something stupid, in a stupid way and trying to promote himself to the scientific community as a result. He can't control the dosage from each bite, or the specific toxicity of each snake...meaning he can in no way generate any useful scientific data from his tests, yet he is hoping it will be a scientific breakthrough. I don't understand some people...

double eep

Hey, how do you know what EEP stands for?

His method is crude but it nothing but human trials to develop natural anti venom. It's his body go for it if you want. I have had first hand experience with a much worse keeper and HOT snakes are still legal where I work.

we also have to consider that this could be a publicity stunt, possibly with venomoid snakes.

the fact that he uses the hook to pick them up and pin them, but then gets them to bite him tells me that something's off...

He's only doing that to have control over where the snake bites him. Even with some immunity a finger could take a lot of damage from a bite. For someone who works with venomous snakes, no matter how foolishly, losing or suffering permanent damage to a finger is a big deal. I know it seems hard to believe that this guy would care about a finger, but I'm sure he does.

Bill Haast is the guy who is widely considered the pioneer in this area, although I believe he feels this has long been done in places like India and that he shouldn't be considered a pioneer.

Tim Friede is another and I'm pretty sure who was portrayed on Stan Lee's Super Humans. Last I checked he still had a website.

A friend of mine goes to a venom and toxicology conference every year in Arizona. He says the self inoculation faction is growing every year. Says one guy even shot up a large amount of cobra venom in front of a group of people.

There is also a real estate agent down in Florida who has a website about his self inoculation. I can't remember his name at the moment.

well..that seems dumb but honestly as long as he only doing it to him self...i could care less...

There was a guy on Stan Lee's Super Humans that did this, only I think it was with black mamba venom.
There was a guy but he milked th snake and only enjected himself with a small amount of venom he never acctually got bit

I know its not the same case but I was watching a tv show a while back
called Stan Lees superhumans ... I think it was and they had a guy that keeps poisonous snakes and milks them ... well long story short the guy ended up being bitten by a black momba!!!! and he had no reaction to it ! he claimed to be immune so he got a black momba milked it on tv mind you filled a syringe with 10 cc's of venom and injected himself , mind you there was Emt's there with a ambulance and everything they had him wired up to all kinds of machines to monitor him ..... since its kinda the same kind of deal I thought I would share .... the things people will do for their 5 minutes of fame ...
