indention is maybe almost 1/4" deep, kind of looks like lateral line erosion of some sort...as you can trace the line to just above his gill covering, which also has a small indention not unlike the first one...

pics are still junk and i apologize...blackberry sucks.

yup thats the start of hole in head sry bud. My 8 year old oscar that was 16 inchs got it pretty bad and I dumped tons of money into treating him and could not get rid of it.....

noooooo!!!
i remember when getting into fishkeeping, my friend has some oscars and used malachyte blue? the water turned blue and they were little tablet things...

also, should i be treating the entire tank or just this one fish? none of the other 3 are exhibiting any signs of indentions etc...

Entire tank. If one has it almost def means that the others will get it or have it and are just not showing signs yet. It is said to be caused from high nitrates and stress from tanks being to small.

you cannot treat the flu if you don't have it.. not to say you won't get the flu down the road.. so treating oscars that do not have it yet will be no help... just improve their conditions the best you can.. treat the one who has it in a separate tank and hope for the best.. they are all very susceptible to this.
