Have you had a drop in temperature? Sometimes ich is present in the water, but with warmish temperatures the fish's immune system is strong enough to not contract it. If the temperature drops, could be just a few degrees, they can't fight it off anymore.

going with everyone else. i dont see hole in the head but i do see some signs of ich. just as a heads up if the temp increase and the salt dont eliminate the ich, ten becareful with wat me you add into the tank. certain fish are sensitive to certain meds. sorry to hear about your tank bro.

She is looking quite sickly and hasn't eaten still. This is week 3 she hasn't eaten. The ich is going away. However her gills have been looking messed up, like gill curl, torn gills around edges, and just pieces of skin hanging around the bottom of her gills.

However there has been some recent discoveries with the tank params, thanks to F1 vet and TBTB along with a few others, I discovered why some of these problems have occurred. The nitrites and nitrates are good but the ammonia is off the charts-literally. I guess it spike without me noticing. Anyways I got it down to 2ppm with two 30 percent water changes over the span of three days. I will continue them until params are perfect but it looks good in the future.

You have alot of threads about sick fish/ dead fish. You should keep your stock lower in your tanks and change water more often. I do 30% water changes twice a week. I'm a little concerned about your stock. it seems like you have a tendency to over stock your tanks..

Lets Count: 2 threads about my BP but they are the same issue in different forums. 1 on my red tail payara, one on how to cure my channel cats parasites and there was one on my Lima shovel nose a few months ago. For dead fish, there was that one on my Lima and one on my planted tank that had ich which killed my L129 and two petricola catfish. That's over the span of a year. Yeah it's not good. That's 3(technically four if you count both BP threads) and two about dead fish around a year span with most of them being around the same time. Which means that there is something wrong that I couldn't find.
anyways,Well I recently found out it was an issue of my water source already having a 3ppm ammonia. Which is why I switched to an outdoor house which has zero. Also if you look at at the times yet were posted in they were all in the same week. It just happened at once. And for the 3 years I have been keeping fish, only a few fish have died and it was mostly due to an ich outbreak in one of my small community tanks. Yes I will say that I'm over stocked. There is no doubt. At least I am definitely getting a tank for Christmas. Already been discussed with my parents.

I think your doing good. Asking for help when you need it and following through treating your fish to do the best you can. Fishkeeping is definitely a learning experience. Sometimes you just have a run of bad luck. It happens to all of us sooner or later. Hope your blood parrot's gills heal up well.

K cool that will sure help alot, One of the hardest things for me to learn personally in fish keeping is to keep a balance of fish, its easy to get excited about fish and get lots but once you find your personal balance you realize that properly stocked tanks and under stocked tanks are just so much less effort and are generally easy tanks to maintain. I`m glad you are making an effort.
