Is this how you feed a large fish?

Came across this conversation on Instagram.
A couple fish were in a small tank. This guy chimed in.

Is that a thing now... pulling fish the tank just to feed them?

It must be a thing,the guy said he knows what he is talking about lol.I remember years ago when people would remove their fish and do a complete tear down in order to change the water.
 
When was that? At least when I got into the hobby 20 years ago people would call you a moron if you did that.
When I was a kid a few people did it that way and I can recall old timers in the nineties who would not be told any different simply doing their once yearly cleaning/changes that way.

Def wouldn't do it with a puffer. You stress it out if puffs it's bad. If it accidentally takes in air and you can't burp it out ....game over

Could you images taking your RD out to feed? My big fish have been a beast to feed in the tank and now I need to take them out....not happening

This is what my dad did years ago. When he was my age (quite some time ago)

This guy seems a bit silly...
