Is this leaf ok?

you're seriously perma banned from the lounge? I didn't even know that was possible.

so, not to ruin anything but tha'ts an amarylis not a clivia. The bent leaf thing happens, like you found out they can fix themselves or get repositioned and be fine. If you want it to flower again leave the leaves on for a few months after flowering, and then remove them and stop watering the bulb for about 4-5 months. And the bulb seems to be at just the right depth, they have a tendency to rot so keeping it clean and free of debris is critical. If the bulb starts getting soft you can remove a few layers of the brown papery covering to help it dry out, but it isn't a guarentee.

You must be some kind of botanist to be able to tell an amaryllis from a cliva when not in bloom just from looking at a sideways picture on the computer. They look almost exactly the same. I have been growing and breeding amaryllis(and some cliva) for many years and would not be able to tell the difference just by looking at a pic. Though a healthy cliva does ususally have more than three leaves so that could have been what caused you to say it was an amaryllis...

Hello Mr. Bigglesworth (kitty) do you needs scratches?
Mr. Bigglesworth (kittah), this is Starbuck, my kittah... (Starbuck says sorry for hijacking this thread)

^ nice bengal...

Surprised you could tell that he is a bengal from the bottom. He is a Marbled Bengal. Rather than spotted. He was a rescue as a kitten. He is now 10 years old. He loves sitting on top of the tank and dipping his paws in and pretending to catch fish. He has never actually caught one. He loves water and even likes taking a bath. Very un-cat-like. He is an ACTUAL ratter. There are rats under my trailer and he actually catches one now and then.

Krusty: I was making an educated guess because in my experience amarylis have the very large bulb like the one in the picture, where clivia have stolons between the different shoots. Clivia are usually seen with multiple shoots coming from the soil in a given pot, where amarylis are typically in a pot by themselves. Also the leaves in the picture are much wider, lighter in color and flimsy than clivias typically are.

And even though I don't cats, Mr. Bigglesworth looks like an awesome cat

Thats probably has something to do with my sister previously owning 2 F3 bengals :)
