Is this normal?

I have a red devil and all of a sudden it had black spots. FYI it has hole in head disease? Are the black spots normal?

Black spots are nothing unusual for RD's. They often change colors, and a touch of black can come, go, come again, stay forever, leave forever..... Whatever.

The Black spots can quite often mean stress, add that to the HITH and I would check my water!!

Red devils and Midas will go through a stage that sometimes is referred to as "peeling". This might be what you are seeing in your fish. It is not a disease just a stage they all seem to go through.
