You're going to need a bigger tank because they grow and need room. Feed once every two days, and do water changes every week. Get some plants to help reduce ammonia and nitrites/ates.

Honestly, I think a 5-6" fish will be fine in a 10 gallon, especially since you've got good filtration. Just don't add anymore and it will be fine.

I agree. If you're happy with the one fish it's fine but if you want more then upgrade first.
