is this over crowded?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah i'm afraid that stocklist will probably not work as the festae or the jag will own that tank and you'll wake up to a lot of dead fish one morning. The geo is not tough enough to live with these guys as they get bigger and more aggressive.
Then again it may work but you maybe swapping oer-aggressive fish out of there constantly to achieve the right mix.

Festae and Jag owning the tank....................NO - it'll be the Texas, more aggressive - faster growth rate and balls of steel. Jags are terrortorial as are Festae but both usually have to be full grown before they can qualify as tank busters - the Texas can be a tank buster at half it's full grown potental not mention they are as relentless as Salvini - big ol' ball of frustration.

As always it depends on the fish.
In my experience Texas' are all show and no go where as some of the festae and jags i've had were just brutes. All cichlids seem to have differing personalities which i suppose is why we love them.

well i do care thats why i asked the experts dah!

Hey - sorry for my earlier comments. I wasn't quite myself :(.

While there's a remote chance that they'll get along and stay healthy as adults, I just don't think they'd enjoy it, and you would miss a lot fun....

Good luck with whatever you decide to do...

I have a Texas Cichlid that's more than six inches and he's not that aggressive. It does depend on each individual fish. I also have a friend with a Jag that lives peacefully with four other cichlids that most would consider too mild to stand a chance with him.

yes also the key to raising all of this aggresive cichlids together is to raise them from young like it sounds that u have. if u get them all pretty much same size than they will set up their on hierarchy and will live together with the occasional scuffel. like i know this is overstocked but in my 55g a year ago i bought of young fish only 1" or smaller. first i started off with a sveni pike cichlid and a oscar. had them for a week or two alone. the pike punked the oscar so hard that the oscar would just hide in the corners and anytime the pike came around the oscar would turn himself around. so than i added my jags which are now a pair and just layed their first eggs. but all four of the fish set up a heirarchy is the point of the story im too lazy to type it all right now. no fish were killed in it

excatly theres a bloke that owns a fish shop near me that gave me the idea coz his display tank that is 5',3',3', has: jag pair that spawn every week, neet pair, geophagus pair, jd pair ,green terror pair, bigest convict pair ive seen, blue acara pair, and a large pleco that is boss of the tank.
but the point is that his had all them in there together since they were babies none of them fight the only casuallty was a one of the convicts got to close to the jags eggs so the female ate it, other then that no ripped fins or scars on any of them!

This theory has some merit in general but there is a big size difference in his display tank and your 105g tank. 3x infact as his display tank is nearly 340g. When you increase the volume and footprint, the doors to your stocking choice open right up.;)
