Except if the output is too strong that your fish is getting pushed around by the current like a baseball.
Then you just have to get bigger fish
The 2080 uses less than 30W of electricity. Look elsewhere for your power consumption. Start with lights and heaters.
i do not see problem with over filteration as for me personally i would just go with enough not overkill.
btw what is the size of your sump volume and rated overhead flow wise?
as for electricity saving mission..its the lightning consumes the most, LED will save u in long run and turn off your heater..its summer..unless u dont get the heat

What are the best heaters to use for energy consumption and should i have more smaller heaters then less larger ones?

all LED lights use very low power consumption by nature..its just a matter of preference on the brand and what looks more pretty to you.
marineland LED looks good to me if you want name.
It may not be absolutely necessary, but in my experience; if you have the chance to overfilter a tank, take it.
