There is no question that you can do it too. The supplier is in Arkansas and it is said that they supply most of the US with feeder stock. I found them because I ran across an anti-trust lawsuit brought against them for price fixing. With a little research, I found them and their subsidiaries.

thanks for the info i found a place that sold them by the 1000s also but it was in cali and im in ohio and they wanted me to go the the airport 60miles from my house to pick them up and it would have ended up being cheaper to buy from the petstore after the shipping and gas money was added in but send me what u got i could only find that one place and maybe u got something closer to me

i can also see this getting out of hand but i set it up and its going to happen if i can't keep it clean then ill cut some of the stock but i knwo if the LFS can keep 2000 in a 75 i sould be able to keep 1000 in a 75

The LFS also keeps 12 inch oscars in 10 gallon tanks. Maybe you should follow someone else's example?

It gets pretty cramped inside a fish's stomach. It is best to keep feeders in this condition so that they are more comfortable with what is to come :D

true but taking things into consideration like gas price ( i get 13miles to the gal in my truck) and price for feeders .08-.10$ its better to buy bulk and not have to do it all the time but once every couple of months plus it this doesn't work i got two 10s and a 5 i can put feeders in and use the 75 for bigger better things

also why would i want to follow any good exaples when i can follow a bad one make it work and then make it a good example for someone else to follow lets consider this a experiment for the ppl who get tired of driving to the LFS every week to buy 2$ worth of fish (MYSELF)

LOL LOL LOL  thats the best thing i have heard yet today

I voted no, but I'm with chompers re: the sponge filters. Skip the Whisper and get a couple of Hydro 5 sponges & powerheads, they'll do a great job and added bonus the powerheads will give you more circulation.

koop171, I don't know where in ohio you are, but if you can't find a supplier (although thier prices are going to be better obviously), a decent deal is pet supplies plus, at least the one by me, which offers $8 dollars for 100 goldfish (they cut out two bucks when you get this many)

yeah i was just there yesterday and i saw that price the only thing is when i get them i will want to buy as many as possible at once and they didn't have thats many so i have to get ahold of them to see if they can get me bulk and ill just go there on the day they det them delivered and take them right from them thats way

and i did look into the sponge filters and it doesn't look like a bad idea at all i think im going to go ahead and do that also can anyone sugest a good sponge filter that will do the job for this big of tank and what size airstone i will need for them (i will prolly do two of them)

yes overboard, that is the answer you have been pressing for, right?

happy?

I couldn't imagine the bio load of 1000 goldfish in a 75 gallon tank. That comes out to 13.3 Goldfish per gallon of water. Goldfish are dirty, so unless you have a jet engine powered filter system, you'll lose a lot of Goldfish in short time. With daily deaths from there out. I would go with less Goldfish and save some of the headache.
