not really.

you if you have any sort of a leak, you have a section of dead fish.

also, given the sections are connected but seperate, you if you have sections with different temp. requirements, it will be hard to maintain (either way with a divider or with glass partitions its still going to conduct heat or the lack thereof).

it would be impractical to maintain..IMO

Anything is possible, it would just take alot of work both in setting it up and in maintaining it. Becasue when it comes down to it you would need to maintain three different water parameters, use the specific filteration needed for Saltwater, the filteration needed for Brackish, and so forth for Freshwater. Its not to say it wouldn't be do able, as it would. But it would sure be alot of work, when you could enjoy the tank even more by sticking to one designated theme.
