I don't think there is a way to know for sure. That being said, I have always thought that midas were a little beefier and had a more pronounced nuchal hump.

Looks like a cross. Larger hump but pronounced lips. Unless from a reputable source they are almost always RD/Midas crosses. That however is a very nice one. great markings and coloration. Good profile too

EXACTLY! There's no way to know for sure unless you buy from reputable breeder/importer/dealer. This thread could go 10 pages but would be filled with nothing but speculation and those who agree with anubisscott.

Either way, awesome fish...love the bocourti.

Well you got that answer, more people seem to think he looks more like a red devil. I'm willing to put money on it being a mix tho, they always are.

look like a rd, the lips are realy pointed and the eyes are red
