The red color is real. The flash flushed out some of the light of the nan light from the fish. If the color weren't real, the flash would have flushed out the SR's color.

The color of the light and background do have some effect of the color of the arowana.
Check my arowana from the original owner tank compare to my tank.
Maybe also the camera have some effect as well.

I think it's the Tanning light that enhanced the red on the Aro. The aro looks great!
