Well, my clownknife is about 5 and a half inches long and may aro is about 4 inches. My clownknife is very dosile and wont touch anything but shrimp pellets. I tried gut loaded feeders a few times and it seemed like he just hangs out with them instead of eating them...even after a couple days with meager feedings. Anyhow, I want them to be tank mates in the future and think this might be a good time to introduce them to each other. If I do, I will definately keep my eyes on it and make sure everythings golden. Is this a good idea for putting them together?

i have heard of knives and aros being tank mates in the past but i would def. keep a close eye on them. i think knives grow faster than aros up til a certain point then the aro will pass him. i guess the biggest question would be the size tank they are going to live in together. good luck if you do it. i think it could work.

permenant tank will be 200 gallon.

that tank is much to small for the both of em full grown. but i grew out an aro and ck from 6" each to 18" with no probs at all, great tankmates in my situation!

Well, this size tank will suit them for a while. I'm sure I'll build another tank for them in the future.

the 200 will last quite a while. that will give you more than enough time to worry about a bigger tank.

make up your mind, 200g would last a couple years.

Well, I got other fish I might wanna keep in a 200 and it's hard to get material that big into hawaii.I'm working with the biggest acrylic I can get that are aquarium grade. Not as many resource's as the rest of the US.:(

Thanks what I was thinking, I mean they are both still very young.;)

i was also interested in putting this setup together as well. i was at the local petshop and they told me that as long as one another can't fit in each other's mouth they should do fine as tank mates.
