Sounds poorly built to start with then if the seams can't even take the pressure when it's getting full.
Best plan might be to cut all the old silicone out and take it apart, get some new end pieces made from thicker glass so it's safer then get it put back together properly.
The tank sounds brilliant visually and very eye catching but make sure it's built properly and safe before using it.
