I bought a Paratilapia sp"Fianarantsoa" from Dave's a few years ago. It was the most beautiful fish I've ever kept. But I wanted my tank to go a different direction so I sold it.

Now, I want one again. Or another Paritilapia. I went back to look at Dave's and I see this? What the hell is this? It looks like a short body? Lol. Maybe not to that extreme but it definitely looks like it's been bred to the extent it's not how a normal fish looks in the wild? Am I crazy?

In case Dave is here, no offense! I know Madagascar cichlids are endangered and I wouldn't be surprised if certain strains have gotten into unfortunate genetic bottlenecks. I love his shop. If someone comments explaining that they actually do look like this in the wild and that's just how they look, that's cool I'd buy one.

Agree with the others, in person I think you would see it is fine. Nothing wrong with that fish.
