I have my 100 gallon rimless on 3/4" plywood and on top of that 1" white Styrofoam.
After I got the tank set up I noticed that one corner of the foam has a chip out of it.
Is this a problem?

Thank You

I thought glass tanks don't need foam.

I am not an expert, but I cannot understand why a chip in the corner of a sheet of Styrofoam should make it spread the thrust of your tank any less effectively. It doesn't look very dense, but if you know that not an issue,I would use it.

If the tank doesn't have a frame the foam should be okay the foam is just to help relieve an pressure point. The corner missing a small piece shouldn't effect anything really.
But that doesn't fix everything you should be sure the stand is as close to perfect level in both directions as possible.

Stand is level fore and aft. The tank does a a trim on the bottom it is about 1/8" thick. It is set up as per the manufacturer......i just wasn't sure about the chip out of the Styrofoam in the corner. This is a rimless tank......the trim is just there to protect the glass I am surmising.

I've always read warnings of using a full sheet of foam under the bottom of a glass tank with a plastic trim. I would do as I did and sit the foam only under the trim and trim the part that's in the middle. Like I did here

If i did as you suggest the warranty would be voided. This is a rimless tank. Yours is not a rimless tank. Mine has a trim around the bottom to protect the glass from chips etc. Your tank is set up properly because of its design. You did an excellent job. Thanks for the detailed response......but i cannot set mine up as yours.
