Is this tank level enough? Help Please!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tank doesnt need to be level . it needs to be sitting FLAT on the stand , you will be OK

The Stand needs to be level though, correct? I placed some rubber wedges underneath the two rear corners of the stand (not the tank) and now the whole thing is perfectly level. The tank is sitting flat on the stand.

You will be fine, stand doesnt even have to be level (looks beter if it is though),as long as its sort of close to level (igot a 5 ft. tank thats an inch off side to side) you are OK. DONT LET anybody scare you as long as ALL SIDES are supported properly its fine

Thanks for the feedback. Now I can begin to enjoy my new tank without worry. I purchased it from Aquarium Arts in Mesa BTW. Nice little shop but not a large selection of freshwater fish.

There is no problem there if the tank stays that way as you fill it. The only problem would be if it starts lean anymore one way or another. My guess though is that as you fill it the carpet will be compressed and the tank will level out even more as the concrete slab underneath takes more effect. My 125gallon was more off than that before I filled it so I just paid attention as I filled it. Now, after filling it and running for over 5 months, it is almost perfectly level. I checked it almost every week for the first month but nothing changed. Hadn't checked it in a while but thought I might as well since seeing this. Again, nothing has changed. So just pay attention to the level as you fill it and you should be fine.

I agree with this.

Was in there today, 50% off everything! I saw a stack of 40 gallon breeder tanks for $30 each! Had to be 15 to 20 tanks in that stack. This Saturday is the last day :(

This news really bums me out. Now where will I find great cichlids to stock the new tank? Bummer.
