thanks fishdance for the info so the t piece will stop the gurgling not to sure how big the sump filter willl have to be but it will be for a 500gallon tank

someone else has posted this many times and it has helped me a bunch...

Have you looked at Dursos? Stockmans? Herbie method? not sure if there are others but those all will reduce noise. I'm using dursos on my tank right now.
