Found this fixture for a great price. Was told it is too much for a 20 long because it's so shallow. Would I be better off with a 4x24w T5 fixture totalling 96w's?
This light is a 250w MH w/ 2x65w actinic's, w/ 2 LED moonlights. Sounds great, but too much?

go big or go home!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its like crack for your plants!!!!
yeah, but I am also worried that its only 6" off the top of the water in a 20long. Think the MH is gonna boil the water.

Experiment....For a few hours monitor the light fixture above the water at 6in.....and see what happens....worse comes to worse send it to me, free of charge, possibly pay for shipping if you can and call it a day? LMFAO :D....lol try the experiment.

I got a better idea...I'll send you my wife, kids, dogs...In fact I 'll look into shipping my house. I'll do the experiment in peace in my garags. That I WILL pay for the shipping! Thanks for the info....

I think this is major overkill...and that you are going to have some scrambled corals when its all said and done.

How about getting a taller aquarium, like a 29 gallon?
I just got a 30" Current Satellite 2x65w w/LED moonlights. Got it for $110. from my LFS. He couldn't move it. Worked out great for me.
