Well, it's possible the owner got told off about how cruel it is to dye fish and they no longer want it either. Would it then be less cruel to kill it or better to sell it?

whats done is done, since it was already purchased best thing IMO is to give it a good life as long as it can live, I would never buy it from a dealer or store since that is only encouraging more to be made. it is a very unethical cruel practice.
