With the correct care of your tank, you shouldnt be even thinking of an ich outbreak. This means feedings, temp, light duration, cleanliness of water etc.

While there are lots of things you don't NEED to have to keep fish, some things (like UV sterilizers) make fish keeping easier. I've also been looking to get a UV sterilizer, but I discounted this particular model as being WAY too cheap. I've learned from my mistakes, and cheap is only good to a point. When other UV sterilizers run $150-200, and this is $50, there MUST be some issue with quality of construction or performance.
