was just discussing the above in another thread, so i thought i might put the question out there...

i have owned 3 jars in the past all from very small at around 2.5"... and they are absolutely wikid!

however, in all cases, once they start reaching past the 6-7" mark... skit alert!

sometimes any movement near the tank, water changes, turning the room light on...etc, would send them into a frenzy...

i know of a few that arent this way... but the few people that i have spoken to, have had similar experiences...

I voted never because s/he really is not, but my jar is also only like 6.5" so we'l see what happens. I also have a 6" tsn who isn't really skiddish either... And I've heard reports of total nut case tiger shovelnose cats... So I don't know. The most skidish fish I have right now is my larger pacu it's kinda funny because the one that's about 2 inches smaller then him is much less skidish hmm....

Jardini are known for this behavior.

They are one of the most skittish arowana.

What size tank have you got? Is it bare with bright lights?

Mine is sometimes.Only if there is a sharp quick movement.(by peolple, not fish)The only other time is when I am cleaning the outside glass but then it is fine when I am doing a W/C or have my hands in the tank.

Moved my jar back into the tank from the pond a few weeks back. Was skittish for first 2 days but now is back to normal. Only does a dash if there's a quick movement outside the tank, otherwise it waits at the surface for food when i lift the lid and pretty much ignores me during sand vacs. It's about 10". High traffic area so I guess it's used to people moving around.

It is skittish when I am near it.

Thats what my Jardini was like. He always used to bash himself against the glass when i entered the room or sat on a chair near my 400gal tank.:screwy:

I have a glass pannel in my kitchen where i can see my tank from. From there he was totally calm.
Thats why i voted HELL YES.

yea mines is only around 4 inches, but growing everyday, hes pretty much tame but eats like a pig.. never jumps, only for crickets.. but hes pretty cool and calm
