My wife likes my fish. She didn't even complain a couple weeks ago when I spent our first day home with a new baby cleaning tanks & buying my motags. Doesn't know about the nichol's mouthbrooders that I bought on aquabid that should be here tomorrow though. That might take some explaining.

the ex didn't care much one way or the other. got the occasional "that thing cost how much?", "you got more fish? do you need more fish" and i loved the "do you really need another tank?" but was pretty much indifferent. any females in texas who like fish? :naughty::naughty:

Begging for forgiveness, rather than asking for permission?...;)

Pretty much. Especially since I "borrowed" her credit card to do it. I'd probably feel really bad about that part except I pay the bill anyway.

my woman hates it. so i bribe her into letting me get more
Example:
"hey honey know that new carpet cleaner you really want? lets make a deal" lol
she has her new carpet cleaner and im getting a 180gal :)

I put indifferent, but when it comes to picking the fish somehow she wants to get a say in it and watches them just as much as I do. Cleaning and water changes? That's when it's my responsibility!

I'm not really sure how my wife feels about it. I know she gets annoyed when I bring aquariums home, but she likes the fish. What we've done in the past was have a tropical community. I would do all the maintenance and I would let her pick the fish. It's worked well. She didn't bat an eye when I told her I was going to upgrade the pond from 350g to 2,200g. She knows I enjoy it so I guess that's what is really important.

Well, how does your spouse take to your fish addiction? Are they supportive. addicted too, or annoyed?
My wife tolerates it...
I brought home a free 55 gallon setup the other day I got from a friend (nice setup, stand & everything, Free!) The wife tried to tell me I wasn't ALLOWED to have any more tanks! LOL I had to lay down the law real quick on that one! She couldn't care less about keeping fish, I don't get it. :screwy:

Ummm...has she read this post??:grinno: I'd almost bet my tanks the answer would be "NO"

My g/f tolorates it....but never stops *****n about it, she likes the fish, thinks they're pretty and cool, but doesn't like the time and money I invest in the hobby.

I fit into these categories. My GF loves to sit and watch our (...my) fish. In fact, when we first started out, she spent more time researching than I did, so I learnt alot from her to begin with... Now, she's happy to come along to the LFS/LPS to look at or choose new fishies, but I do all maintainence/upkeep, as well as begging for money for new stuff. She gets pissed at the amount of money being sunk into this hobby, but as I said above, loves to sit and watch the fruits of all my labours (begging)... I actually think she's in love with our Crowntail Betta...hmmm...:OMG:

It's funny how, when there's money needing spending, or water needing changing, they're MY tanks...when it comes time to talk to intrigued friends about the beautiful tanks and fish, they're suddenly OUR tanks...
