Issues with my Kelberi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats def ich. High heat and good water should fix them. Bump up to mid 80s and add a air stone if you dont have lots of surface aggitation

So it's definitely itch? Hmmm weirddd!
What do you mean if I don't have lots of surface agitation ?do you mean no enough oxygen bubbles from my filter output?

Kels are woooses for so long... I would doubt it if they were fed live before you got them. They wont hit pellets right away. Whats the tank temp at? My kels were panises all the wat to 11 inches lol.

Sigh I know right! Hopefully they become mean monster soon. Now that I know it's ich ill most probably have to treat the water first and feed him up before starving him again. Oh well 6 days of starving all gone to waste

I wouldnt medicate for ich. Small weak bass cant always take the chemicals. Raise heat over 82 and ich cannot reproduce and will live out its cycle and die. And yes with high temps, dissolved O2 goes down. Make sure you are adding some air if you arent already. Common ways to increase O2 is either pumping it in with airstone or powerhead or breaking the surface of the water to increase gas exchange

Ive always kept my youngins at LEAST 85 degrees and never had a ich problem. Get a heater in there to be sure its warm enough man.

Okay guys ich is starting to spread to my temensis . Looks like it was ick! Mistake made I shouldn't have starved the kels when I first introduced em in! Most prolly stressed! One of the kel looks like it's recovering the other I can't seen a noticeable difference.

Raised the tempreature , added salt and yellow powder. Hoping for the best now.

Question. Because my tank is infected with ick ,should I remove my bio media? Ceramic rings and coral chips as well right to not get it infected and further prolong removing ick from my whole tank.
