Istlanum and stalsbergi outside in Oregon

My cichlids are still in the pond in Wisconsin, today was in the 90s.
But mine are cooler water species, mostly from Uruguay, and a pair of beani, and like Modest man, I barely see them, other than a few streaks and shadows now and then.
I like to use biofractionation on my ponds, it removes everything from free floating algae, to gunk as opposed to storing it in the media.

I sometimes sequester smaller cichlids in a tub that leads to the pond, like these Gymnos, taken blindly with the GoPro

One more, this is the pond the Gymno tub is attached to, I believe that's an Australoheros ceibal in the last few seconds, again this was blind, just plopping the GoPro in and moving, and hoping for something.

I've got floating plants and a couple sponge filters for aeration. I was worried about the oxygen levels. We're still in the 80's during the days but at nights now we're hitting the upper 50's, so we're swinging 30 degrees air temp daily.

I'm using a Rubbermaid stock tank, and for next year I'm going to use some of that spray on insulating foam and cover the sides of the pond to help insulate it more.

That's a great idea. Here is the pond I'm using right now. Pic was taken when it was still inside the garage.
