my istlanum responded very well with the following:

- 82F
- epsom salt
- clout

i had them in a 10 gallon hospital tank and they had bloat for around 1 week but are now 100% again. i wish i had better success with my other fish in the past.

just need to get them to spawn now.

i used the eggcrate / light diffuser. there are plenty of holes. the acrylic divider with the gap in between probably boils down to whether the male is a straight shooter
i know most of sean's fish are bent (just like him. aside from the two male motas), so that's never been an issue of concern for him

I almost lost my female Istlanum to bloat. It was sick for almost 1 1/2 months. Back to normal for a week now and gained her bulk back. I changed my feeding schedule, the amount of food I give, and amount of water change.
Here she is now. One was taken with a different camera setting.

Your fish are always quite amazing! That female is really beautiful, with such a nice set of trailers. Very nice & healthy.
