I was trying to get a POTM photo and got some good shots of my GATF, but nothing of him worth entering into the contest. Still a couple good shots that I figured I'd share, however. :)

Nikon d5100, 50mm f1.8G lens fired at f8, ISO 640, 1/200th.

Amazing fish!!

You are right, not particularly fantastic shots ( compared with what goes around in here ) but that GATF is out of this worl!!

Thanks, Miguel!

He's a stunning fish, but very uncooperative. When I get up on the tank with the camera he goes right to the bottom of the tank and gets really twitchy. He's damn near impossible to get a good picture of, at least for my limited photography skills. I'm learning though. I'll be a contender for that POTM some day. ;)

:)

good shots, yeah only if you could take close ups from far away. mine always swim freely till i come to look at them, now i just spy on them from a room away

Sent from my SGH-T959P using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

get a zoom lens. 50 would make it a little hard to get good shots. for nikon get the 70-200mm:)

Cool. I have a few zoom lenses, I'll break them out and take a crack at it in a bit. None of them are the good f2.8 glass, but I've learned a lot since I used them last. I guess I can take another crack at it. Thanks man. :)

cool, whats your set up like? using any off camera flashes? (i find they are one of the most impt things for aquarium photog)
