It looks like smoke!

There is something that looks like smoke at the top of my tank at the waterline. I did a 50% water change and it's still there. Does anyone know what this may be? Thanks in advance.

Is it a saltwater tank or freshwater? Is it like a fog smoke, or a residue on the glass? Intriguing!
