i know it sounds stupid maybe be in that room more often so he sees u more maybe just scared cause holy **** here comes a big thing after me , then u leave u know

Or his water finally cleared up and now the fish can see how funny its owner looks!!!

Sorry it was to easy!!!!

Thanks. Unfortunately there isn't much to do in that room other than spend a little time watching the fish. I don't think I could manage to spend two or three hours a day in there. Here is a picture of the setup from the upstairs balcany area (old picture from when I first setup the 300).

All fish have different personalities, yours may be shy forever.

My young Dovii (5-6") is getting a little better. He finally will eat in front of me, but hauls a** when he see's the camera. My tank is in the unfinished basement so not a lot of traffic. But my JD in the tank next to it is always out and about and the JD is smaller. I do notice that if he sees her he will come out more. Time will tell I guess.

Heres a bad pic of him finnishing off a beefheart.

Thanks, this is actually the dining room though. The kitchen is quite a bit larger and has cabinets, a stove, and a couple of fridges instead of fishtanks. ;p Wife won't let me have any tanks in there or it would probably have a tank or two as well. :D

lol ok smarta**....lol our kitchen dining room are connected in one big room ...yeah wifey got mad but once i filled it i told her she could move it where ever see wanted it ..LOL

Have you considered dithers? Maybe a few silver dollars will give him the confidence.

My Festae hide most of the time except to feed and at night. I hope it's something that will go away as they grow. I feel your pain! Having a large tank with nothing to see but rocks and decor is quite boring. I hope your Dovii begins to swim and display how great he looks soon. This really surprises me though, I always assumed that Dovii weren't shy at all. Good luck!

BTW awesome dining room. I had a fish who was like that...he needed more seeing of ppl and then when I put a few buddies in his tank it helped. Dithers like above...well anything that will swim a lot and not be scared seemed to help me out. Im sure he will soon realize he is a beast and runs sht
