It's Flea & Tick Season!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Advantix (yeah I know, everyone says it's not as good, but it's what I got), capstar, washing every piece of clothing on the house, spraying the carpet (not bombs for this fish keeper), vacuming and steam cleaning the carpet/furniture and talking the apt complex to spray outside. I think I finally won.

Now I'm only out about $200 for 2 freakin cats.

that sucks and your in texas which the weather doesnt help at all. heat makes fleas lay thats why you rarely see them during the winter unless your house is a breeding ground! good luck man!

advantix has pyrethrin which is very toxic to cats. advantage is what i think you mean and in this case frontline would be better because it also kills ticks

sentinal is expensive because it contains program which prevents fleas from laying eggs but not from biting.
interceptor is the heartworm product which is in sentinal without the lufenuron (Program) prevents heartworm also gets hookworm roundworm and whipworm
Also if your pet is not on heartworm preventative year round then you do need to do a heartworm test before starting it or you risk an anaphylactic reaction if given to a heartworm positive dog

Frontline gets fleas and ticks preventing them from biting and the pet from bringing them in to the house to bite you

Advantix gets fleas ticks and mosquitoes, is not a heartworm preventative though .
Prevents bites which is important in allergy cases and also (hopefully )prevents bringing ticks into your house
