My Koliba is starting to color up a little but I'm afraid he'll have to go thru another transition into the 265g in about 10 more days. I love his body shape and dorsal fins, and his head looks so dinosaur-like it's cool. I think I like him better than the Endli.

The Teugelsi is really cool too. He's taking market shrimp right in front of me already. He's a colorful bichir like an Ornate but more active like a Senegal (but just a little less).

yeah its suspected to be either a new species, or a new P. bichir subspecies (lapradei is a P. bichir subspecies as well). Between just these two options, i think the latter is more likely.

There's also a third option, that it's a locale variant of lapradei (specifically Guinea lapradei). And now there may be evidence to support this.
