its not ammonia!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok so the fermantation unit is done and has been taken off the tank. almost 2 days ago now. it was the hangon design so its imposible for it to be knocked over, i hope! my ph is stable because im using RO water, which comes out of the unit at 7.6-7.8 depending on age of the membrane. i use neutral regulator (powder form) to make it 7.0 The tank itself is stable and i havnt lost any fish, even the cardinals. i test the ph all the time and it doesnt change much. im only trying this because i will soon be getting discus fish and i need to master water control lol. im still confused because i had the co2 unit on a ten gallon with good results, nothing like this!!

Where is your tank placed in your house?

Any windows around?

What color is the cloud?

its not by any windows or draft or anything of the sort. the color is the same if you were to have really really high ammonia, but levels test 0ppm. as i posted earlier, my lfs thought that it may be cat litter, but i cant imagine that my cat has litter on his paws for like 4 hrs after using the box.

yeah actually it did. sorry about not posting anything earlier. what i did was used the idea from the first post. he said to use a blanket i did this with no feeding and no lights. after i took off the blanket 3 days later, it was still cloudy but not as bad. i then did a 80% water change and that did the trick. right now the tank is really clear, all the levels are perfect and to top it off, my fish are growing larger lol. good ending. i also took the co2 unit off and decided against using it again in the future. i think i will consider eaither a DIY unit or a pressure injected system. thanks so much for all the help everybody. thanks to all of you my tank has survived. thanks again

the blanket trick is the ****! Your welcome glad i could help!
