It's official!

Many tanks:) goes to Kullander and Ferreira. I now know we have Ocells, Monos, Orinos, and now Nigromaculatas and Kelberis in the local lake, as well.:D

No you have florida Pbass... There is so much cross breeding down there that they are their own sp.! :)
 
Makes you wonder whether the PBs all over South America are hybrids as well.

I guess, it's now official our state of confusion has been elevated to another level and no DNA evidence to support the new nomenclature.:(

It would seem that there are really only two species. Those that starts out as fries with the horizontal lines along their bodies like Tems and those that start out like the fries of Monos, Ocells, and Orinos. The diferrent looks as adults are just geographical expressions for whatever reasons that are non-genetic.

I'm just happy to be able to identify fish as Peacock Bass, and skip the mambo jambo involved with the other names.
