Ivanacara Grow Out Thread

Why was there ammonia in the tank? Do you not have cycled filters?
Im not to sure what it was I think some of my bacteria might have died off from the ph drop with the botanicals. The tank has been running for a while now with a Hydor 250 and an Eheim 2217.

Day 2: Did a 50% waterchange

When I walked in to my room from my break I saw what almost looked to be a pair with teo of the fish in the same cave. As I did the waterchange I forgot the water falls out of the python at the end so I destroyed some of the structure Oops. When I get back to my moms Monday I'll make some more caves.

I can confirm that all 4 fish are alive. Turns out their eye color can shift between gold and black depending on how they feel.

One of the fish hides away somewhere in the back with their own territory. Another has claimed the left third of the tank where a few used to be so I got to make some better structure there. Two of them roam a bit get chased by the fish on the left and pace up and down the acrylic. They now seem to hold their own against the tetras.

The Ivanacara seems to be settling in pretty well now. They are showing a slight intrest in the food but haven't really eaten any of it yet besides for a few nibbles.
I think the tetras just have thinner gill plates giving their gills a reddish look.
(Excuse the water stains)
